WORLD TEACHER'S DAY: Akinloye Celebrates Teachers on World Teachers’ Day, Hails Their Role in Shaping Future Generations

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Ibadan North-East Constituency 02, Hon. Abiola Abdulrazaq Akinloye, has felicitated with teachers across Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day 2026, describing them as indispensable builders of society and shapers of future generations.

In a goodwill message marking the annual celebration, Akinloye commended teachers for their dedication, patience and commitment to educating and mentoring children and young people despite the numerous challenges confronting the education sector.

He noted that the contribution of teachers extends beyond classroom instruction, stressing that educators play a critical role in developing the character, knowledge, discipline and values required for responsible citizenship.

According to him, “Every successful professional, leader and responsible citizen has, at one point, been influenced by a teacher. The impact of a dedicated teacher may not always be immediately visible, but it continues to shape lives and communities for generations.”

Akinloye called for greater recognition and support for teachers, including improved working conditions, professional development, adequate teaching resources and an environment that enables educators to perform their duties effectively.

He also encouraged teachers to remain committed to their noble profession, assuring them that their sacrifices and contributions to society remain valuable and appreciated.

The APM candidate further emphasized the need for stronger investment in education, describing quality education and a motivated teaching workforce as essential foundations for sustainable community and national development.

He congratulated teachers on the occasion and prayed for renewed strength, wisdom and fulfilment in their profession.

“To every teacher who continues to teach, guide, inspire and nurture our children, I celebrate you today. Your work matters, your sacrifice matters and your impact will live beyond the classroom. Happy World Teachers’ Day,” Akinloye said.

World Teachers’ Day is observed annually on October 5 to recognize the contributions of teachers and highlight the importance of the teaching profession to education and society.
