Oyo Road Infrastructure: Makinde Completes 38 Major Roads, 18 Others Ongoing - Full Breakdown
The Oyo State Government has released the status report of its road infrastructure projects executed between May 2019 and August 2026, showing that 38 major roads have been fully completed, 3 are nearly completed, while 22 others are ongoing across the five zones of the State.
The list, which covers over 900 kilometers of roads, includes flagship inter-zonal highways, Ibadan inner-city dualisation projects, federal road interventions, and rural farm roads under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP.
Flagship Highways Completed
The administration has completed two of its biggest inter-zonal roads that connect Oke-Ogun to Ibadan, Oyo and Ogbomoso:
76.7km Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road, now renamed Adebayo Alao-Akala Memorial Highway, which connects Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso Zones - Completed
65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road, which connects Ibadan and Oke-Ogun Zones - Completed
34.85km Oyo-Iseyin Road, the main artery to the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub which is almost completed - Completed
83.83km Saki-Iseyin Road, a federal road that received limited rehabilitation - Completed
Ibadan Circular Road - Signature Project
The 110km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road is progressing in two wings:
32.2km South East Wing - Nearly Completed
36km North East Wing - Ongoing
High-mast floodlights have been installed on Bridges 1 and 6 and the Onipepeye Bridge section of the road.
Ibadan City - 18 Roads Approved in 2024
In 2024, Governor Seyi Makinde approved 18 inner roads under Lots 1, 2 and 3. Of these, 14 have been completed:

Traffic Management and Maintenance
Junction improvements with traffic management systems have been completed at Challenge, Felele, Idi Ape, Civic Centre, Agodi Gate, and University of Ibadan Junction. Rehabilitation of Iwo Road Roundabout and expansion of Adegbayi Junction - Bus Terminal - Iwo Road Interchange has also been completed.
Regular maintenance by the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, is ongoing across 16 LGAs, including General Gas - Valencia College - Kolapo Ishola GRA, Odeloba GAA Masifa - Katongua Road in Ogbomoso North, and roads in Ogbomoso South, Surulere, Oyo East and West, Afijio, Atiba, and Ibadan metropolis.
The government said the road network is deliberately tied to its agribusiness and economic expansion agenda, linking the Fasola, Ijaiye and Eruwa Agribusiness Industrial Hubs to markets.
