Hon. Abiodun Oluwaseun Babalola, PhD, popularly known as "Mr. Integrity", member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North East Constituency 01 and an APM candidate in the 2027 elections, has today, Friday, 18th September, 2026, applauded Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for renewing the monthly wage award of ₦25,000 for Oyo State civil servants and ₦15,000 for retirees.

The Governor made the announcement at the Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan. Civil servants, labour leaders and government officials, led by the Acting Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal, welcomed him back to office from his annual leave.

The renewal comes as the pump price of petrol has risen to about ₦1,400 per litre, deepening the transport hardship faced by workers and retirees. Governor Makinde also assured workers that the transport subsidy, introduced earlier this year, will continue.
Hon. Babalola said: "Governor Makinde has once again shown that he understands the pain of the common man. By renewing the wage award and easing transport costs, he has brought real relief to workers and retirees at a difficult time."

He noted that the Governor used the occasion to point to the growth in the state's wage bill and minimum wage since 2019, which he said reflects an administration that puts the welfare of workers first.

The lawmaker commended civil servants for their dedication and urged them to turn out in large numbers in the 2027 general election.

He called on them to vote for Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, the APM governorship candidate in Oyo State, and for Governor Makinde as the next President of Nigeria. He asked them to support all APM candidates across the nation, from the presidency to the National and State Assemblies, including himself as the party's candidate for Ibadan North East Constituency 01.
