2027 Poll: APM Is a Moving Train as Makinde Steers the Wheel, Hon. Akinloye Welcomes Ajiboye Sangogade, Boye Nation into the Party

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) witnessed a significant political development in Oyo State on Monday as Hon. Abiola Abdulrazaq Akinloye, APM Oyo State House of Assembly Candidate for Ibadan North-East Constituency 02, joined other party stakeholders in welcoming Hon. Ajiboye Akande Sangogade, popularly known as Boye Nation, and his supporters into the party.

The development took place during the Boye Nation/JAF Movement Mega Concert, held at the Open Tennis Court of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, under the theme “Young, United and Unstoppable (YUU).”

Reports from the event stated that Sangogade, an associate of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, led supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the APM. 

For Hon. Akinloye, the occasion provided an opportunity to formally welcome Sangogade and members of the Boye Nation movement into the APM fold, as the party continues its political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, the APM presidential candidate, also formally received the new entrants at the gathering. According to reports, the defectors were drawn from several local government areas across Oyo State. 

The event attracted APM leaders, candidates, government officials and political stakeholders, including the party's senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates. 

The political reception was combined with entertainment, with Fuji and contemporary artistes performing at the event. The YUU platform was presented as a gathering combining youth engagement, entertainment and political activities.

The development adds to the series of political realignments taking place in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections, with the movement led by Sangogade now formally associated with the APM.

With Makinde leading the party's national ticket and Akinloye participating as the APM candidate for Ibadan North-East Constituency 02, Monday's gathering further highlighted the expanding political activities surrounding the APM in Oyo State.
