The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, popularly known as AAA, has flagged off her campaign for the 2027 general elections with free health services for residents of the constituency.
The medical outreach, held across selected wards in Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East Local Government Areas, provided hundreds of beneficiaries with free medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, eye examinations, free drugs and health education.
The flag-off ceremony witnessed a large turnout of party leaders and stakeholders, including members of the State Working Committee, State Executives, the PDP Chairmen and Executives of Ibadan North East and South East Local Government Areas, ward chairmen, women and youth leaders, as well as other party stakeholders and supporters across the federal constituency.
Speaking at the flag-off, Dr. Adekanmbi-Akinseye said the initiative aligns with her people-centred agenda and her commitment to promoting accessible and quality healthcare at the grassroots.
She noted that good health remains the foundation for productivity and sustainable development, stressing the need to bring healthcare closer to vulnerable and less privileged residents.
According to her, combining her campaign flag-off with the health intervention was a deliberate effort to demonstrate that her aspiration is driven by service and genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
Also speaking at the event, the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Prof. Abdulrahman Akinoso, commended the Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency candidate for her boldness and humanitarian gesture.
Akinoso described Hon. Adekanmbi-Akinseye as an educated, vibrant and highly cerebral personality, noting that her background as a mathematician and PhD holder sets her apart as a competent and articulate representative.
"She is an educated person, a mathematician and vibrant. She cannot go to the National Assembly and fold her hands; she will deliver. We need an orator like her in the National Assembly," the Oyo PDP Chairman stated.
He appealed to party members, residents and the entire people of Ibadan North East and South East to support and vote for Hon. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye and all PDP candidates in Oyo State in the 2027 general elections.
In her remarks, Hon. Adekanmbi-Akinseye expressed appreciation to security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and hitch-free exercise. She specifically commended the Oyo State Commissioner of Police and the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for their support and deployment of personnel.
She also lauded the three Divisional Police formations that provided tight security and ensured the safety of residents and participants throughout the programme, describing their professionalism and commitment as commendable.
Residents and community leaders who benefited from the exercise commended the PDP candidate, describing the intervention as timely, impactful and a reflection of responsive leadership.
They said the outreach provided relief to many families who could not afford basic medical care and pledged their support for her candidacy ahead of the 2027 polls.
Dr. Adekanmbi-Akinseye assured constituents that the health mission is one of several programmes designed to improve living standards, adding that her legislative blueprint will prioritise quality healthcare, education, youth empowerment, women inclusion and attraction of federal projects to the constituency.
The programme ended with prayers for peace, unity and progress in Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency and Oyo State at large.
