…APM Leaders Sensitise Residents on Party Symbol, Call for Support Ahead of 2027 Elections
Hon. Akinloye Abdulrazaq Abiola, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly in Ibadan North-East Constituency II, has commenced a door-to-door campaign in Ward 10, his home ward, as part of efforts to engage residents and strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign, which adopted the slogan “Charity Begins at Home,” was designed to bring the party's message directly to residents, create opportunities for face-to-face engagement, and sensitise constituents on the party's political agenda.
The exercise was led by Hon. Ojuolape, the APM Secretary in Ibadan North-East Local Government; Hon. Tope Julius, the Secretary of the APM Campaign Council in the local government; and Hon. Deji Ola, Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Oyo State Governor.
The campaign commenced at CAC Primary School, Irefin, Ibadan, before proceeding to Irefin Palace, Jinadu Compound, Egunjenmi Compound, Delesolu Compound, and Ile Oloro Compound, where the campaign team engaged residents and community members.
During the door-to-door engagement, residents reportedly expressed enthusiasm and readiness to participate in the forthcoming elections.
Some residents also commended the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing it as impactful service.
Addressing constituents during the exercise, Hon. Tope Julius called on residents of Ward 10 to support APM candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He highlighted Hon. Akinloye's previous experience as a councillor representing Ward 10, arguing that his familiarity with the community and its challenges should be considered by voters.
Julius also appealed to residents to support Akinloye, citing the contributions and gestures associated with Chief Adisa Meredith Akinloye.
He urged constituents to assess the candidates and their records as they prepare to make their choices at the polls.
In his remarks, Hon. Deji Ola sensitised residents on the APM party symbol and urged them to familiarise themselves with the party's logo ahead of the elections.
He also spoke about the political realignment involving Governor Seyi Makinde and the APM, encouraging constituents to understand the party's identity and follow the relevant electoral guidelines when voting.
Similarly, Hon. Ojuolape charged Ward 10 residents to make informed decisions in the forthcoming elections and consider the candidates and parties they intend to support.
Speaking during the campaign, Hon. Akinloye Abdulrazaq Abiola promised to pursue people-centred governance if elected to represent Ibadan North-East Constituency II at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He called on residents to support his candidacy alongside other APM candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Akinloye emphasised the importance of maintaining close relationships with constituents, listening to their concerns, and prioritising issues affecting the welfare and development of the people.
The Ward 10 exercise marks the beginning of the candidate's door-to-door engagement initiative, with the campaign focusing on direct interaction with residents and strengthening communication between party representatives and communities.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to develop, the campaign provides an opportunity for candidates and political parties to present their programmes and engage voters at the grassroots level.
