Oyo Central PDP Senatorial Candidate, Engr. Ayobami Akinyode Olunloyo Felicitates Olubadan of Ibadanland on 82nd Birthday and First Coronation Anniversary
Oyo Central PDP Senatorial Candidate, Ayobami Akinyode Olunloyo, has felicitated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, as he marks his 82nd birthday today and the first anniversary of his coronation tomorrow.
Olunloyo, speaking on behalf of himself and the Olunloyo family, described the occasion as a particularly meaningful one, reflecting not only on Kabiyesi’s public service and traditional leadership, but also on a longstanding family connection.
He said:
“Kabiyesi is not someone I have only come to know through public life. He was a friend of my father, Chief Dr Victor Omololu Sowemimo Olunloyo, and I grew up knowing members of his family, including going to school with some of his children.
So for me, this double celebration carries both a public significance and a personal connection.
I am grateful to God for preserving Kabiyesi and for the privilege of seeing him ascend the throne of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
His life has traversed business, public service, politics, and now traditional leadership, and that breadth of experience gives this season of his life a particular significance”.
Oba Ladoja previously served as Senator for Oyo South and Governor of Oyo State before becoming the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Olunloyo added:
“On behalf of myself and the Olunloyo family, I wish Kabiyesi a very happy 82nd birthday and a peaceful first coronation anniversary.
May God continue to grant him wisdom, strength, sound health, and long life in the service of Ibadanland.
May his reign continue to bring honour to the throne and peace and progress to the people he leads”.
He concluded with the traditional prayer:
Kí adé pẹ́ lórí. Kí bàtà pẹ́ lẹ́sẹ̀. Kí ìlú Ìbàdàn túbọ̀ rọ̀rùn, kí ó sì túbọ̀ là.
Káàábíyèsí o! Igba ọdún, ọdún kan ni, láṣẹ Elédùmarè.
