ADESHINA ADEWALE EXCEL'S CONDITION WORSENS DAYS AFTER SURVIVING ALLEGED ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT IN IBADAN

Ibadan, Oyo State — Monday, 21st September 2026.

The Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency candidate of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general election and former Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 election, Hon. Adeshina Adewale, popularly known as Hon. Excel, has seen his condition worsen days after surviving an alleged assassination attempt in Ibadan.

According to Newstouchng's sources, Hon. Excel was attacked on Friday, 18th September 2026, by nine hoodlums who intercepted him and his personal assistant on their way back from a political meeting at CAC Grammar School, Adesola, in Ibadan South East Local Government Area.
Our sources further disclosed that the injuries he sustained during the attack, particularly to his leg and chest, have worsened in the days since, with his leg now dressed in bandages as he continues to receive treatment.

Newstouchng's sources say Hon. Excel remains grateful to the operatives of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) whose timely intervention he credits with saving his life during the attack, even as his condition continues to be monitored.

He is said to have reiterated his appeal to politicians to shun "do-or-die" politics ahead of the 2027 general election, insisting that no political office is worth the loss of a single human life.
Hon. Excel's associates have called on his supporters, NDC faithful, and well-wishers across Oyo State to remain calm and continue to hold him up in prayers as he receives treatment.
