Ibadan North-East Local Government Train Residents Through Skill Acquisition Initiative as Chairman Akintayo Urges Participants to Embrace Self-Reliance

The Ibadan North-East Local Government has officially concluded a successful four-day intensive vocational training program designed to foster self-reliance and economic independence among its residents.

The initiative, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (popularly known as "O Mu Yes"), underscores the administration's commitment to community development through human capital investment.

The training, facilitated by the Peculiar Heritage Hand-made Bag Industry, equipped 46 participants with practical expertise in several high-demand fields, including: Bag Making, Gele and Make-ups/Makeover, Foot-wears Making, and Beads and Fascination.

The sessions were expertly managed by the CEO of the training firm, Mrs. Ibironke Baro Omolaja, with support from Pastor Ayodeji Odunayo, who served as the marketer for the program.

During the closing ceremony, Hon. Akintayo emphasized that the initiative is strategically designed to provide residents with the tools necessary for financial independence. He noted that skill acquisition is a vital driver of national growth, asserting that with hands-on training and minimal resources, individuals can successfully create sustainable livelihoods.

Echoing these sentiments, the Head of Local Government Administration, Ibadan North-East Local Government, Mrs Omolara Aremu, urged all participants to make diligent and productive use of the skills they have acquired to improve their economic standing.

Representing the beneficiaries, participant Adenike Aransi expressed deep appreciation to the Ibadan North-East Local Government and the administration of Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, remarking that the training has provided them with invaluable knowledge that will serve as a foundation for their future entrepreneurial endeavors.

During the ceremony, Hon. Akintayo personally presented certificates of completion to the participants, formally recognizing their dedication and the new professional skills they have acquired throughout the four-day program.

In attendance also were some management staff and stakeholders in the local government.
