Ibadan North East 2026: Olasupo Ibrahim Ademola Declares Chairmanship Ambition Before Ibadan North East APM Executives

Mogaji (Hon) Olasupo Ibrahim Ademola on Thursday formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, presenting his letter of intent to the Executive Committee of the PDP–APM Grand Alliance.

The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee led by the Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun, popularly known as Abuye.

In the letter dated July 16, 2026, Olasupo said his decision to seek the office was informed by his commitment to the development of Ibadan North East and his desire to serve the people with sincerity, fairness and dedication. He stated that his administration, if elected, would focus on grassroots development, responsible leadership and strengthening the relationship between the local government and residents.

He also reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and to the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, while appealing to members of the Executive Committee for their support, prayers and encouragement as the selection process progresses.


Following the presentation, several members of the Executive Committee took turns to address the gathering. They commended Olasupo's relationship with party members and described him as someone who has remained accessible and committed to the party's activities over the years. Some of the executives also referred to him as "our person," expressing confidence in his aspiration and wishing him success.


The declaration marks the formal entry of Olasupo Ibrahim Ademola into the race for the Ibadan North East Local Government chairmanship, as political consultations continue ahead of the party's nomination process.
