Deji Ola Mourns Beloved Patriarch, Chief Raufu Delesolu: “Ibadanland Has Lost a Rare Pillar of Wisdom and Exemplary Leadership”
The Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on Political Matters, Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola, has expressed profound grief over the passing of the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Raufu Yusuff Delesolu, describing his demise as an irreplaceable loss to the Delesolu family, Ibadanland, and Oyo State.
In a heartfelt tribute, Ola extolled the late elder statesman as a distinguished traditional leader whose life was defined by selfless service, uncommon wisdom, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of his people.
According to him, Chief Delesolu devoted his lifetime to the growth and development of Oje Community and its environs, earning the admiration and respect of all who came in contact with him. He described the late patriarch as a role model, a bridge builder, a peacemaker, and a revered custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage whose wealth of experience in public service remained invaluable.
“Indeed, our family has lost a rare gem and an extraordinary patriarch whose greatest priorities were peace, effective leadership, justice, respect for the rule of law, and the development of people. Baba lived a life of purpose and left behind a legacy that generations will continue to cherish and emulate,” Ola stated.
Reflecting on his personal relationship with the deceased, Ola noted that Baba’s love, guidance, and fatherly counsel profoundly shaped his life. He said the late Chief’s unwavering dedication to humanity, Ibadanland, and Oyo State would forever remain an enduring source of inspiration.
“As one of Baba’s grandsons, this loss is deeply personal. His fatherly affection, prayers, and priceless words of wisdom will remain with me forever. His remarkable legacy of humility, compassion, courage, and service will continue to illuminate our path as a family and as beneficiaries of his exemplary life,” he added.
While extending his heartfelt condolences, Ola sympathized with the wife, children, grandchildren, and the entire Delesolu family, praying that Almighty God grants them the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this painful and irreplaceable loss.
“Baba’s passing is one death too many. His seat may now be vacant, but the impact of his life, the values he upheld, and the memories he created will never fade. He will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated.”
