"VOICES HEARD, COMMITMENTS RENEWED: IBADAN NORTH EAST ASSEMBLY MEMBERS STRENGTHEN CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT AND RESPONSIVE REPRESENTATION"

The two Distinguished Honourable Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North East Local Government Area jointly hosted a landmark Constituency Outreach Programme on Wednesday, June 18, 2026, at the Apex Event Centre, Idi-Ape, Ibadan.

The programme, organised by the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), Ibadan, under the convening leadership of Mr. Bamgbose, was themed: "Enhancing Legislative Responsiveness Through Direct Citizen Engagement."
The event brought together Community Development Committee (CDC) representatives and key stakeholders from across Ibadan North East, providing a robust platform for lawmakers and constituents to interface directly on matters of legislative performance, community development, and democratic accountability.

Distinguished Honourable Abiodun Babalola PhD, representing Ibadan North East Constituency 01 and widely celebrated as "Mr. Integrity," delivered a comprehensive account of his achievements across three years of productive legislative service in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The lawmaker, whose record of purposeful representation has earned him widespread admiration across the constituency, used the forum to reaffirm his commitment to transparent and impactful governance.

In a particularly well-received moment, Hon. Babalola called on the convener, Mr. Bamgbose, to elevate the frequency of such town hall engagements from the current annual single-session format to two or three editions per year, emphasising that sustained citizen engagement is central to meaningful legislative responsiveness.

Distinguished Honourable Olusola Owolabi, representing Ibadan North East Constituency 02, equally seized the occasion to address the CDC representatives present, assuring them of his resolute commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy to every corner of the constituency.

Hon. Owolabi's assurances drew warm reception from attendees, reinforcing the spirit of accountability and direct representation that defined the day's proceedings.
The Constituency Outreach Programme stands as a significant milestone in the legislative engagement calendar of Ibadan North East, underscoring the resolve of its representatives to govern with their constituents at the centre of every decision.
