BUILDING A BETTER NIGERIA: HON. BABALOLA CHARGES NIGERIANS TO EMBRACE THE SPIRIT OF DEMOCRACY ON JUNE 12.

The sitting Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North East Constituency 01 and Allied People's Movement (APM) second-term candidate for the 2027 general elections, Hon. Abiodun Babalola PhD, popularly known as "Mr. Integrity," has extended warm Democracy Day greetings to the good people of Ibadan North East Constituency 01, the people of Oyo State, and all Nigerians as the nation marks another June 12 celebration.

The lawmaker described June 12 as a sacred date in Nigeria's democratic journey — a day to honour the eternal sacrifice of Chief MKO Abiola and the pro-democracy heroes whose struggles secured the freedoms Nigerians enjoy today, while renewing the collective commitment to building a nation worthy of their sacrifice.
Hon. Babalola expressed deep gratitude to the good people of Ibadan North East Constituency 01 for their continued trust and confidence, noting that their support in securing his second-term ticket on the APM platform is a resounding validation of his legislative record and service delivery.

He reaffirmed his resolute commitment to accountability, transparency, and people-centred representation, pledging that the renewed mandate he seeks will be deployed entirely in the interest of his constituents. "The mandate you gave me has never been taken for granted, and the renewed ticket I carry is a responsibility I bear with the utmost seriousness and humility," he declared.

Reflecting on Nigeria's democratic progress, Hon. Babalola acknowledged the strides made while candidly noting the significant work that remains across governance, youth empowerment, and economic development. He called on elected officials at all levels to recommit themselves to the ideals of June 12, stressing that democracy loses its essence when leaders become disconnected from the everyday realities of their constituents. He described the 2027 general elections as a defining opportunity for Nigerians to recalibrate their democracy and elect leaders who truly embody the values of service, sacrifice, and integrity.

The lawmaker concluded by charging the youth of Ibadan North East and Oyo State to take their civic responsibilities seriously and participate actively in the democratic process. "Your vote is your voice, and your participation is your power — do not surrender that power," he urged, before offering prayers for the unity, peace, and accelerated progress of Nigeria, expressing confidence that the nation's best days lie ahead when citizens and leaders alike choose integrity over convenience and service over self-interest.
