Eid-el-Adha: Ibadan North-East Chairman, Akintayo Advocates Love, Sacrifice, Urges Peaceful Coexistence Among Residents
The Executive Chairman, Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (popularly known as O mu Yes), has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in Ibadan North-East Community and beyond on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Adha, popularly known as Ileya.
In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, the Chairman, who is also the Aare Akeweje Adinni of Oyo State, congratulated Muslims on witnessing yet another Eid-el-Adha celebration, describing the festival as a season of sacrifice, obedience, love and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
Hon. Akintayo noted that Eid-el-Adha commemorates the exemplary faith and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, stressing that the lessons of obedience, selflessness and compassion embedded in the celebration should continue to guide the daily lives of all Muslims and Nigerians at large.
The Chairman specially extended his warm greetings to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, applauding his unwavering commitment to religious harmony, good governance and sustainable development across the state.
He also conveyed his heartfelt felicitations to Muslim brothers and sisters across Ibadan North-East Local Government, the Chief Imam of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Imam Abdul Fatai Muhammad Awwal, religious leaders, political leaders, members of the Legislative Council, political functionaries, management and entire staff members, as well as indigenes and residents at home and in the diaspora.
As part of activities marking the celebration, Hon. Akintayo also distributed food support packages to members of staff of Ibadan North-East Local Government and Ibadan East LCDA to enable them celebrate the festive season with joy and happiness.
The Council Boss encouraged Muslim faithful to remember the less privileged during the celebration by extending hands of love, support and generosity to those in need, noting that the true essence of Eid-el-Adha lies in sacrifice, compassion, kindness and care for humanity.
He urged residents to continue to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, while also encouraging them to uphold the values of patience, tolerance and generosity.
Hon. Akintayo prayed that the blessings of Eid-el-Adha bring peace, joy, abundant blessings, good health and prosperity to every household and prayed for continued progress, unity and development of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Chairman concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people and the continuous pursuit of inclusive governance for the benefit of all residents.
