Oyo Guber Hopeful, The Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, has charged residents of the state to remain hopeful and intentional about the future, insisting that education, human capacity development, and community welfare must remain central to governance.
In a goodwill message to the people of Oyo State ahead of the weekend, Dr. Adeniran described his engagements with citizens across communities as a constant reminder of the “collective journey” to reposition the state.
“As we step into another weekend, I’m reminded of why our collective journey matters. Every conversation with you, every handshake, and every insight you share through this journey strengthens my resolve to continue working for an Oyo State where opportunity is not a privilege, but a standard,” he said.
The Oyo SUBEB Chairman maintained that the state deserves leadership that places education and human capacity at the core of its policies, noting that such ideals have continued to guide his service to the state.
“Our state deserves leadership that puts education, human capacity, and community welfare at the heart of governance. These ideals continue to guide my commitment to serve,” Adeniran stated.
He called on residents to stay engaged in governance and civic responsibilities, stressing that the future of children and communities depends on deliberate actions taken today.
“This weekend, I encourage us to stay hopeful, stay engaged, and stay intentional about the future we want for our children and our communities,” he said.
Dr. Adeniran further emphasized the need to consolidate and build on the policies of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration, which he said have laid a foundation for sustainable development in the education sector and beyond.
“Together, we can build on the Governor Seyi Makinde policies and achieve the Oyo State we all envision, one step, one idea, and one purpose at a time,” he added.
The SUBEB boss concluded his message by wishing all residents a restful and inspiring weekend.
Since his appointment by Governor Makinde, Dr. Adeniran has spearheaded several reforms under OYOSUBEB, including the recruitment of teachers, renovation of public primary schools across the 33 local government areas, and the implementation basic educational programme aimed at reducing out-of-school children in the state.
Under his leadership, the board has also strengthened partnerships with UBEC and other development partners to improve infrastructure, teacher training, and learning outcomes in public basic schools.
Stakeholders in the education sector have often commended the Makinde administration for prioritizing basic education through increased budgetary allocation and prompt payment of counterpart funds, a policy direction Dr. Adeniran has repeatedly pledged to sustain.
