The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known and addressed as "OMUYES," has joined Christians across Oyo State, Nigeria, and the entire world in celebrating the Easter festival, extending his warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all Christian faithful as they mark the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In a goodwill message made available to pressmen on Sunday, April 5, 2026, the Ibadan North East LGA helmsman described Easter as a season of immense spiritual significance, divine hope, and collective renewal, noting that the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains an eternal source of inspiration and strength for believers and humanity at large.

Hon. Akintayo urged Christians to use the occasion not only for celebration but also for deep personal reflection, encouraging the faithful to recommit themselves to the core values that Christ exemplified — love, sacrifice, compassion, and service to others — as a guide for their everyday conduct and relationship with their neighbours.


The council chairman also extended the Easter message beyond the Christian community, calling on all residents of Ibadan North East Local Government Area, irrespective of religious affiliation, to embrace the spirit of the season by promoting peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence within their homes, streets, and communities.
"Easter reminds us of the power of love and the victory of light over darkness. I call on every resident of our local government to live as good neighbours, to shun all forms of violence and division, and to work together in building a community we can all be proud of," Hon. Akintayo stated.

The OMUYES, as he is fondly called by his constituents, reaffirmed his administration's steadfast commitment to the development and welfare of the people of Ibadan North East, pledging to continue to serve with dedication, fairness, and an open heart to all.

He wished all Christians and the entire people of Ibadan North East Local Government Area a joyful, peaceful, and abundantly prosperous Easter celebration.
