Easter Monday: Ibadan North-East Chairman, Akintayo, Celebrates Christians
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (popularly known as O mu Yes), has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians as they commemorate Easter Monday, marking the joyful celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His appearance to His disciples in Galilee.
Hon Akintayo described Easter Monday as a significant moment that reflects the completion of the Lenten fasting period and the fulfillment of God’s promise of salvation, victory and eternal life.
The Chairman extends warm Easter greetings to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and prays for continued wisdom, strength, and success in his leadership.
The Council Boss also extends warm Easter greetings to Christian leaders, political leaders, members of the Legislative Council, political functionaries, management and staff of Ibadan North-East Local Government and all residents at home and in the diaspora, wishing them a peaceful and fulfilling celebration.
The Chairman noted that the conclusion of the fasting period signifies spiritual renewal, discipline, and strengthened relationship with God, urging Christians to sustain the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love and humility imbibed during the Lenten season.
He emphasized that the message of Easter Monday symbolizes reassurance, divine presence, and hope for a better tomorrow. He therefore called on residents to remain steadfast in faith and continue to promote unity, peace, and tolerance within the community.
Hon. Akintayo prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health and prosperity for all residents of Ibadan North East Local Government expressing optimism that the spirit of Easter would bring lasting peace, progress and development to Ibadan North-East Local Government and Oyo State at large.
He concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fostering unity, inclusiveness and harmonious coexistence among all residents, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
