Owonifari's Commitment to Islam Earns Him Grand Chief Imam's Praise at Ramadan Lecture
The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosho, Sheikh Yunus Teliat Olushina Ayilara II, PhD, has commended Honourable Saheed Oladimeji Owonifari for his exceptional contributions to Islam. This acknowledgement was made during Owonifari's Annual Ramadan Lecture, held at Map Hall, where prominent Oyo State leaders, including Speaker RT Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, represented by Prince Bayo, Chief of Staff to the Speaker, and former Deputy Governor Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, were in attendance.
Sheikh Ayilara, delivering an Islamic discourse, emphasized the significance of unity, love, and peaceful coexistence in society, highlighting Owonifari's efforts in promoting these values. The event brought together Islamic scholars, politicians, and community members to discuss moral values and harmony during Ramadan.
Ambassador Taofeek Oladeji Arapaja, National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), represented by Hon. Akeem Ige, served as Father of the Day. Other dignitaries included Hon. Dare Adeleke, represented by Hon. Adeleke, PDP Leader; Hon. Ademola Ige, Chairman of the Local Government Pension Board; Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin, Oyo State Commissioner for Energy; and Chief of Staff of Oluyole Local Government, Honourable Azeez Babalola.
The annual Ramadan lecture, organised by Hon. Owonifari, traditionally brings together Islamic scholars, politicians, and members of the public for spiritual reflection, guidance, and discussions aimed at promoting harmony and moral values during the holy month of Ramadan.
