Hon. Igbalajobi Bags NAPSS Award for Grassroots Governance, Dedicates Honour to Ibadan North East Lawmakers

Hon. Abdulmajeed Adekola Igbalajobi, the Leader of the House, Ibadan North East Legislative Council, has been honoured with a Distinguished Award of Service in Grassroots Governance and Legislative Leadership.

The award was presented by the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (Ibadan Campus) during the Departmental Day ceremony held on Saturday, 7th February, 2026.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Hon. Igbalajobi dedicated the recognition to his honourable colleagues in the Ibadan North East Legislative Council, describing their cooperation and support as a major source of strength and motivation.

According to him, the unity and teamwork within the council have continued to serve as an “energizer” in his legislative duties and commitment to grassroots development.

Hon. Igbalajobi also commended the organisers of the programme, including the Provost, Dean, Head of Department, departmental executives and the students, for counting him worthy of the prestigious honour.

He further expressed appreciation and extended his regards to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, for his leadership and support for governance at the grassroots level.

In the same vein, the legislative leader hailed Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo ‘O MU YES’, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, describing him as a supportive boss whose encouragement and leadership have continued to strengthen the council in delivering people-oriented governance.

The event attracted students, academic leaders and invited guests, as NAPSS celebrated excellence in governance and leadership through the recognition of outstanding public office holders.
