The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo popularly known as “O MU YES,” on Wednesday, 26th February 2026, officially launched the Oba Ogundipe Agodi Ultra-Modern Market in Agodi, Ibadan, promising a new era of organized and secure trading for shop owners and residents.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Akintayo reassured former shop owners that shops would be re-allocated strictly to those with valid allocation documents. He emphasized that the local government remains committed to fairness and transparency in the allocation process.
The Chairman highlighted several modern features of the market, noting that the facility is equipped with a mini fire station to prevent and respond swiftly to any fire outbreak. He also disclosed that adequate parking spaces have been provided to ease traffic congestion around the Agodi axis and ensure a more organized commercial environment.
Hon. Akintayo further urged the developers to fast-track the remaining phases of the project to enable traders return to their shops and resume business activities without delay.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Lincoln City Property called on investors and interested members of the public to take advantage of the investment opportunities available at the market, with shop prices starting from Six Million Naira.
He explained that the ultra-modern market offers three distinct packages:
Basic Package: Standard shops with toilet facilities located outside the shop.
Executive Package: Slightly larger shops with en-suite toilet facilities.
Odogwu Package: More spacious premium shops, also equipped with en-suite toilet facilities.
