HON. IBRAHIM AKINTAYO 'O MU YES' CONGRATULATES OLUBADAN ON APPOINTMENT AS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, COMMENDS GOVERNOR MAKINDE
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Honourable Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as 'O MU YES', has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, on his inauguration as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.
In a statement released from his office on Wednesday, Hon. Akintayo described the appointment as well-deserved and a testament to the revered position of the Olubaban stool in Oyo State. He noted that the inauguration marks a significant milestone in traditional governance, particularly as the Council reconvenes after 15 years of inactivity.
"Your Imperial Majesty's assumption of this leadership role signals a new dawn for our traditional institutions. With your immense wisdom and deep understanding of our culture, I am confident that the Council will foster greater unity, peace, and development across Oyo State," Hon. Akintayo stated.
The Ibadan North East Local Government Chairman also commended His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his visionary leadership and commitment to strengthening traditional institutions in the state. He praised the Governor's inclusive approach to governance and respect for cultural heritage, describing the inauguration as another milestone achievement of the administration.
"Governor Makinde has consistently demonstrated his dedication to restoring dignity and functionality to our traditional systems. This inauguration is a clear reflection of his vision for a progressive Oyo State where traditional and modern governance work hand in hand," Hon. Akintayo added.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Ibadan North East Local Government, the Chairman expressed optimism that the reconstituted Council would bring unprecedented progress and harmony to the state's traditional institutions.
He prayed for the Olubadan's continued wisdom, good health, and long life to successfully steer the Council in the service of the people.
