The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as O Mu Yes, has extended warm felicitations to Chief Barrister Dr. Muyiwa Makinde, Ph.D., on his prestigious elevation to the revered position of Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Chief Makinde’s elevation was formally pronounced by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (ARUSA I), the Olubadan of Ibadanland, marking another significant step in the continued strengthening of the Olubadan traditional institution.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Akintayo described the new Gbonka Olubadan as a distinguished son of Ibadan whose contributions to law, governance, and community development have earned him respect across the land. He noted that Chief Makinde’s progression on the Olubadan line is well-deserved and reflective of his integrity, service, and unwavering commitment to the cultural heritage of Ibadanland.

He further commended Oba Ladoja for his exemplary leadership and the stability he continues to bring to the traditional leadership structure of Ibadanland.
Residents, traditional stakeholders, and political leaders have also joined in celebrating the new Gbonka Olubadan, acknowledging the elevation as a milestone in the history of Ibadan’s revered chieftaincy system.
Chief Barr. Dr. Muyiwa Makinde’s new role places him in a distinguished position within the Olubadan hierarchy, further enhancing his influence and responsibilities within the sociocultural framework of Ibadanland.
