HON. ABIODUN BABALOLA, PhD, CELEBRATES THE ELEVATION OF CHIEF BARR. DR. MUYIWA MAKINDE AS GBONKA OLUBADAN OF IBADANLAND
The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East Constituency I in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Babalola, PhD, has extended warm congratulations to Chief Barrister Dr. Muyiwa Makinde, Ph.D., on his elevation to the prestigious position of Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The honour, bestowed by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (ARUSA I), the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has continued to draw commendations from prominent sons and daughters of Ibadan, underscoring the reverence and significance attached to the title.
In a statement on Friday, Hon. Babalola described Chief Makinde as a distinguished legal mind, an astute administrator, and a steadfast promoter of Ibadan’s cultural heritage. He noted that the elevation reflects Chief Makinde’s long-standing dedication, loyalty, and visible contributions to the traditional institution.
“I heartily congratulate my brother and leader, Chief Barr. Dr. Muyiwa Makinde, on his well-merited elevation to the position of Gbonka Olubadan. His integrity, professional brilliance, and unwavering commitment to community advancement have consistently set him apart. This honour is a recognition of his steady service to Ibadanland,” Hon. Babalola remarked.
He also praised Oba Ladoja for his exemplary leadership, which continues to preserve the unity, stability, and respected order of the Olubadan chieftaincy hierarchy.
Hon. Babalola expressed confidence that Chief Makinde will further enrich the traditional council through his experience and wisdom, adding that Ibadan North East Constituency I—and the entire Ibadanland—stands proud of this remarkable achievement.
