Arapaja’s Emergence as PDP National Secretary, a Testament to Competence — Akintayo ‘O MU YES’ Felicitates Former Deputy Governor
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo popularly known as O MU YES, has congratulated Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja on his emergence as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the development as a “victory for experience, loyalty, and capacity.”
Akintayo noted that Amb. Arapaja’s political trajectory has consistently reflected the depth of knowledge and maturity required at a time the party is consolidating its structures nationwide. According to him, Arapaja remains one of the most respected figures within the PDP, admired across generations for his humility, discipline, and administrative wisdom.
He described Arapaja’s new role as “another opportunity for a man who has proven himself at every level to continue strengthening the party,” emphasizing that his emergence is widely seen as a perfect match of responsibility and competence.
> The council helmsman recalled that the PDP National Convention held in Ibadan witnessed the convergence of party stakeholders from every geopolitical zone, a reflection of the unity and renewed commitment within its ranks. He noted that Arapaja, having served as National Deputy Chairman (South), steps into the new position with a wealth of strategic experience.
> Akintayo stated: “We are not just celebrating a political appointment; we are celebrating a legacy of service. From his years as Deputy Governor of Oyo State to his tenure as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Jordan, Arapaja has consistently demonstrated what steadfast leadership truly means.”
He further added that the people of Oyo State, particularly Ibadanland, are proud to see one of their own entrusted with such a crucial position within the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
Expressing confidence in his capacity, Akintayo projected that Arapaja will bring renewed cohesion, direction, and diplomatic skill to the party’s national operations as the PDP positions itself ahead of future electoral contests.
