Official Declaration: Hon. Abeeb Balogun Joins Ibadan South West PDP, Donates Generously
It was a joyful and colourful atmosphere on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, as Hon. Abeeb Balogun was officially received into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the Ibadan South West Local Government meeting.
The event, which took place amidst excitement and jubilation, had a carnival-like mood as party faithful trooped out to welcome the newest addition to the PDP family.
The meeting was presided over by the newly inaugurated party executives led by Hon. Kunle Folarin (Baale), who officially took over leadership from the immediate past chairman, Alhaji Moruf Balogun.
Distinguished personalities present at the event included Alhaja (Chief) Yeye Abosede Adedibu, wife of the late political icon of Oyo State; Hon. Wale Afolabi (WAKKO), Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West LG; former council boss Hon. Abass Alesinloye; Hon. Ayorinde, former OYHA Majority Leader; Hon. Fagbenro; Alhaji Leader Bukola; Pastor Tybon, and numerous other party chieftains and loyal members.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige commended Hon. Balogun’s political maturity and generosity. He also announced a ₦200,000 donation in support of his “dearest brother,” Hon. Balogun.
“I believe absolutely that he will never let you down in all ramifications,” Hon. Ige said.
In his remarks, Aare Borokinni of Ifo Land, Hon. Abeeb Balogun, expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception and pledged his total commitment to the growth and unity of the PDP at the local and state levels.
“I will continue to be a loyal party member and ambassador. As a token of my support, I’m donating the sum of ₦1 million to aid the smooth running of the party,” he declared.
In his closing remarks, the party chairman, Hon. Kunle Folarin (Baale), appreciated Hon. Balogun’s generous donation and lauded Hon. Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo) for his own ₦3 million contribution to the party. He assured all members and new entrants of a fair and inclusive platform ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The meeting marked a new chapter in the Ibadan South West PDP family, reaffirming the spirit of unity, generosity, and collective progress.
