Akintayo Urges PDP Members to Uphold Unity Ahead of Ward Congress
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as O MU YES, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain peaceful, united, and committed to the progress of the party as it prepares for its ward congress scheduled to hold tomorrow.
Hon. Akintayo, while addressing press, emphasized the importance of harmony within the PDP, noting that the congress would usher in new ward executives who are expected to drive the growth and stability of the party at the grassroots level.
He reminded members that internal cohesion remains a key factor for the PDP’s success in future elections. According to him, divisions and conflicts could undermine the collective interest of the party, while unity would strengthen its foundation across the state and beyond.
The council boss further charged members to work diligently towards ensuring massive support for the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, whom he described as a visionary leader with the capacity to lead Nigeria. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Ibadan North East chapter of the PDP to back Makinde in his bid to contest for the presidency in 2027.
“United we stand,” Hon. Akintayo declared, urging all members to put aside personal differences and focus on the bigger picture of building a stronger, more vibrant PDP capable of taking Nigeria to greater heights.
The ward congress, expected to be keenly contested, will determine the leadership structure of the party at the grassroots, ahead of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
