HON. AKINTAYO MEETS ADHERENTS OF RELIGIONS IN IBADAN NORTH EAST LG, SUES FOR PEACE BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER ELECTION.
Peace is the pillar that holds every standing community together and greater development could not be far fetched,thus, this was the premise upon which the chairman of Ibadan north east Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akinsola Akintayo called for a peaceful meeting with leaders of religions and many adherents of Christianity,Islam and traditional religion in the LGA on Monday 31st January, 2023.
PDP chairman in the LG, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun(Abuye) appreciated all attendees, gave short history of PDP performance in the LG which was based upon love. He urged all to love one another and not to use religion to cause crisis especially in our LG at this electioneering period. "We should use religion to unite our society and as means of helping the present government in respect of desired continuity and development.
The CAN president and chairman of religious forum in the council, Pastor Oloyede P. O, in his words called for religious tolerance and quoting that "God almighty expects us to be at peace with all men. He promised that on the part of religious leaders,they would do all they could to maintain peace during this election period. He further appealed to religious heads present, to work in their various wards for success of the present administration in respect of second term agenda.
Engr. Abiodun Babalola a former political head of Ibadan East LCDA and the PDP Ibadan northeast constituency 1 candidate in forthcoming general election advise everyone to live with peace and love their neighbor.
Hon. Gbenga Adewusi ( popularly known as Arole) solicited for more support from the people especially interms of religion to achieve a peaceful society, that it was their help that changed the odd name of Ibadan north east from " IBADAN NOT EASY to IBADAN NOW EASY". He applauded Gov. Seyi Makinde for various developmental work done and still on going. He assured the people that political functionaries in the LG would do their best for better and further development while the people should do their part in order to achieve massive developmental projects.
Hon. Ibrahim Akinsola Akintayo while addressing the people, encouraged all to see peaceful coexistence in the LGA as a priority, to be civil in all their speeches and that religions should be a valuable tool for the lifting up of our society not something that would continue to generate controversy and bring our communities down. He spoke at length about new ideology he had put in place, touring ward by ward to know the people's needs and due to peace that had permeated the LG he was able to achieve more. He concluded by calling for the people's unflinching support and assured them that greater development would hit Ibadan north east LG if the second term ambition of the present administration is backed up.
Other dignitaries present at the meeting include, the vice chairman of the council Hon. (Mrs.) Mary Esomior,PDP women leader Mrs. Abeje, chief Ayobami Apena awo, Hon. Afeez who represented mogaji Tegbe and many others.
