Breaking: Afijio State Assembly Aspirants Calls For Primaries, Rejects Consensus

.....Says Imposition Will Produce Unpopular Candidates


Afijio House of assembly aspirants of People Democratic Party ( P.D.P) has  kicked against imposition of unpopular candidate in the constituency on them, vows for thorough Party Primaries. 

The aspirants jointly rejected and appealed to His Excellency, Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde to let every aspirants goes to primary election and test their popularity in a free , fair and credible primary election to be conducted by party executives at Ward and the Local government levels.

This was contained in a written agreements made available to Latestreportng.com correspondent and  signed by all state house of assembly aspirants. 

The statement reads;

"We unanimously agreed that only a popular and generally acceptance candidate will be bring the so desired victory for our great party ( P.D.P) in the forthcoming election."

“Imposing an unpopular or underperforming personality in an election is hurting, so we need an arbiter to be able to hold the party together and that is the role we all intend to play. Any Attempt to impose the candidate on the party at the house of any leader will be resisted and such action may spell doom for the party."

"We are calling on the stakeholders at Local and State level not to engage on any form of imposition or compromise the process for the utmost interest of the party."

They averred that the only way the PDP can be proud of itself as a ruling party in the state and win the 2023 election with ease, is to conduct a fair , transparent , credible and acceptable primary that is also devoid of violence and bloodshed.

The aspirants for the state house of assembly for the constituency present are: :

(3)Hon Oni Adeoye Ward 01, 
(4)Hon.Afolabi Ismail ward 10,
