Akintayo Hails Makinde, Wife on Conferment of Prestigious Aare and Yeye Aare Asoludero Chieftaincy Titles
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has extended warm congratulations to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his wife, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Aare and Yeye Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland, respectively.
The traditional honours were conferred by the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I, during the commissioning of the newly constructed Eleruwa Palace on Saturday.
In a congratulatory statement, Akintayo described the conferment as a significant traditional recognition of the Makindes’ contributions to the development, peace, unity and socio-economic advancement of Ibarapaland and Oyo State as a whole.
He said the titles were not only a celebration of the couple but also a reflection of the confidence and goodwill they have continued to enjoy among traditional institutions and communities across the state.
“The conferment of these prestigious titles on His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and his amiable wife, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, is a fitting recognition of their service, commitment and contributions to the people of Oyo State.
“It is particularly gratifying that their efforts in promoting development, peace and the wellbeing of the people have received such a distinguished honour from the revered traditional institution of Ibarapaland.”
The council chairman further commended Governor Makinde for what he described as his consistent commitment to good governance, infrastructural renewal, economic development and improved welfare of the people.
According to him, the governor’s administration has demonstrated that effective leadership is fundamentally about placing the interests and aspirations of the people at the centre of governance.
> “Governor Makinde has consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service, responsibility and commitment to the people. His administration’s efforts towards the development, peace and prosperity of Oyo State remain worthy of commendation.”
Akintayo also congratulated Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, acknowledging her role as a supportive partner to the governor and her contributions to humanitarian, social and community-oriented initiatives across the state.
He described her as “a worthy partner whose compassion, humility and commitment to the wellbeing of the people complement the governor’s efforts in governance.”
Akintayo prayed that the newly conferred traditional titles would further inspire the Makindes to continue contributing to the peace, unity and development of Ibarapaland, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
He also congratulated the Eleruwa of Eruwa and the people of Ibarapaland on the commissioning of the new palace, describing the project and the conferment ceremony as important milestones in the preservation and advancement of the region’s rich traditional heritage.
