The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government Area and Aare Akeweje of Oyo State, Hon. Engr. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as "OMUYES," has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Oyo State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of Eid-El-Maulud, the celebration marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

In a goodwill message dated August 25, 2026, issued to journalists in Ibadan, Hon. Akintayo described the celebration as a period for reflecting on the values of unity, compassion, and selfless service exemplified by the life of the Prophet.

"Eid-El-Maulud is a season that calls on all of us to reflect on the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and to imbibe his virtues of compassion, humility, and dedication to the welfare of others," Hon. Akintayo said.
"As Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, I remain committed to serving our people with the same spirit of selflessness, and I urge all of us to use this period to strengthen the bonds of unity and brotherhood that hold our community together."

He commended the peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians within Ibadan North-East, describing religious harmony as one of the council's greatest assets in fostering development.

Hon. Akintayo further called on residents to extend kindness to the less privileged during this season, and urged fellow leaders to prioritise selfless service to the people in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He wished the Muslim community a peaceful and spiritually rewarding celebration, and prayed for continued unity, peace, and progress in Ibadan North-East, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
