Good Friday: Ibadan North East Constituency 1 Representative Extends Heartfelt Felicitations to Christians

The member representing Ibadan North East Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly and former Sole Administrator of Ibadan East Developmental Area, Hon. Abiodun Babalola (PhD), has extended warm and sincere felicitations to Christians in his constituency, across Oyo State, and throughout Nigeria as they mark this year's Good Friday.


In a press statement issued to newsmen on Friday, April 3, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Hon. Babalola described Good Friday as a solemn and profoundly significant day in the Christian calendar — a day that commemorates the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary for the redemption of mankind.


The lawmaker used the occasion to call on Christians and indeed all people of goodwill to imbibe the core virtues embodied in the sacrifice of Good Friday, particularly the values of love, peace, and selfless service to humanity. He stressed that in a time of widespread social and economic challenges, the message of Good Friday remains more relevant than ever, urging citizens to look beyond personal interests and embrace a spirit of compassion and sacrifice in their dealings with one another.

Hon. Babalola further called on religious and community leaders to use the Easter season to promote harmony, strengthen unity, and foster a spirit of reconciliation among all segments of society, irrespective of faith, tribe, or political affiliation.

While acknowledging the constitutional separation between governance and religion, the legislator affirmed that the timeless moral teachings of Good Friday align perfectly with the ideals of responsible leadership and dedicated public service — values he pledged to continue upholding in his representation of the good people of Ibadan North East Constituency 1.
