Excitement Amid Appreciation as Oyo Guber Hopeful, Otunba Opatoki, Kicks Off Empowerment Programme
There was palpable excitement and appreciation today as Oyo State gubernatorial hopeful, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki, launched another empowerment programme aimed at equipping young people with digital skills for self-improvement and business growth.
Opatoki, one of the leading gubernatorial aspirants under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), flagged off the initiative as part of his ongoing efforts to empower youths across the state.
Speaking during the digital marketing training orientation programme held at the House of Chiefs, Oyo State Secretariat, he emphasized the importance of digital skills in today’s modern world and their role in advancing careers and personal development.
He noted that his decision to empower young people with relevant digital skills stems from the rapidly evolving global landscape. According to him, as society continues to embrace a digital economy and a technology-driven workforce, it is essential to prioritize young people and equip them with the tools needed to compete effectively in the global workspace.
Opatoki described his passion for youth development as the driving force behind the initiative, promising to place young people at the center of his decision-making process.
He also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, for his leadership, commitment to the workforce, and dedication to the people of the state, describing him as one of the best governors in the state’s recent history.
He called on all well-meaning citizens of Oyo State to continue supporting the governor as he leads the state toward the much-anticipated Omituntun 3.0 agenda.
Participants at the event commended Opatoki for his generosity and commitment to youth empowerment. They encouraged him to sustain his efforts and pledged their support for his political ambition. They also appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to consider Otunba Opatoki as a suitable candidate to continue the developmental strides of the Omituntun initiative into its next phase.
The event witnessed strong attendance from party stalwarts, artisan groups, youth organizations, and young people from across the state.
The orientation session was facilitated by renowned digital marketing and AI automation expert, Favoured Esther, while Olu Carter Faleye, popularly known as Banuso, moderated the programme.
