2027: New Movement Emerges in Oyo, Targets Greater Development
A new socio-political movement, ÀGBÁJỌWỌ́, has been launched in Oyo State with a strong focus on advancing the state’s development trajectory and sustaining the gains of good governance.
The movement, which was officially unveiled on April 24, 2026, is designed to build on the developmental strides of Governor Seyi Makinde by mobilizing citizens across the state toward a shared vision of progress and prosperity.
In a statement released via its social media platforms, the group called on well-meaning individuals to volunteer and contribute to the continued growth of Oyo State. According to the statement, the movement is rooted in the enduring principle of ÀGBÁJỌWỌ́, emphasizing the power of collective effort in achieving meaningful and lasting development.
The group further highlighted that its vision is anchored on the 4Cs of effective leadership: Competence, Charisma, Collaboration, and Compassion.
It explained that competence ensures leadership is driven by knowledge, experience, and the capacity to deliver tangible results, while charisma helps to inspire confidence, build trust, and align leadership with the aspirations of the people.
Collaboration, the group noted, promotes unity among communities, institutions, and stakeholders, recognizing that sustainable development requires shared responsibility. Compassion, described as the core value, underscores a commitment to inclusive governance that prioritizes the welfare and dignity of every citizen.
The movement stressed that these guiding principles collectively form a people-centered approach aimed at propelling Oyo State toward sustainable growth, unity, and prosperity, described as the true realization of the “Promised Land.”
