IBADAN NORTH EAST COUNCILLORS PAY TRIBUTE TO LATE ALHAJA SADIA AYANDIRAN
Former Ward 3 Councillor Remembered for Exemplary Service
The Legislative Arm of Ibadan North East Local Government paid glowing tributes today to the late Alhaja Sadia Bolatito Ayandiran, a former councillor who represented Ward 3 between 2008 and 2011.
The plenary session, presided over by the Leader of the House, Hon. Igbalajobi Adekola, was marked by emotional tributes and prayers for the departed political leader, who also served as Women Leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
The Majority Leader and councillor representing Ward 7 formally informed the house of Alhaja Ayandiran's passing, with all councillors present for the solemn session.
Hon. Azeez Olalekan, current councillor for Ward 3, delivered a heartfelt tribute describing his predecessor as "a voice for the voiceless and a mother to all in our ward." He praised her tenure as marked by uncommon dedication to service and commitment to community development.
"Alhaja Sadia championed causes that mattered most to ordinary people—from advocating for better roads to ensuring youth had opportunities, from supporting market women to standing firm on issues affecting the elderly and vulnerable," Hon. Olalekan stated.
He highlighted her role beyond politics as a devout Muslim and unifying figure who mentored young women and supported the less privileged. Her service as PDP Women Leader was particularly noted for mobilizing and empowering women in the political process.
Hon. Najeem Adeniran of Ward 9 led prayers for the deceased, asking Allah (SWT) to grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus and give her family fortitude to bear the loss.
The chamber observed a minute of silence and agreed to send a formal condolence message to her family, pledging to honor her memory through continued commitment to service, compassion, and community development.
"Your loss is our loss. Ward 3's loss is Ibadan North East's loss," Hon. Olalekan remarked, expressing the collective grief of the legislative body.
