The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as O MU YES, has applauded health workers, the Primary Health Care Department, the World Health Organization (WHO), Gavi, and other development partners for their outstanding dedication during the recently concluded Measles-Rubella and Polio Vaccination Campaign in the council area.
According to a statement signed by Ikeoye Oyetoro, Head of the Information Unit, Hon. Akintayo praised the tireless efforts and professionalism of the health officers and volunteers who worked diligently to ensure that children within the local government received full immunization coverage.
He described their contribution as a noble service to humanity and a major investment in the future of the younger generation.
“This campaign goes beyond immunization; it’s about giving our children the opportunity to live healthy lives and attend school without interruption. A healthy child is the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous community,” Hon. Akintayo stated.
The council boss also expressed appreciation to the World Health Organization (WHO) for its continuous technical guidance, training support, and data management assistance, as well as to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and Oyo State Primary Health Care Board for their collaboration and coordination.
Hon. Akintayo reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to continue supporting health-related programs that protect lives and promote the well-being of residents in Ibadan North East.
He concluded by noting that the success of the Measles-Rubella and Polio campaign reflects the power of teamwork and the commitment of all stakeholders to advancing public health and eradicating vaccine-preventable diseases.
