Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo 'O Mu Yes' Flags Off First-Year Anniversary of Second Term with Community Engagements and Empowerment Programs
Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as ‘O Mu Yes’, kick-started the one-year anniversary celebrations of his second term in office as The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government with impactful activities reflecting his unwavering commitments to grassroots development, good governance, and inclusive leadership.
The anniversary programs commenced with his appearance on The Situation Room Political Talk Show On Fresh FM, hosted by the radio man , Mayor Isaac Brown. During the broadcast, Hon. Akintayo highlighted numerous achievements recorded under his administration in the past year. He emphasized infrastructural improvements, social welfarism and educational supports as essential areas of focus.
Following the radio engagement, the Chairman joined politicians, civil servants, and residents of Ibadan North East to offer prayers and thanksgivings to God Almighty for His continuous grace and guidance upon the local government. The thanksgivings session served as a unifying moment for all stakeholders in the local council area.
As part of his pro-people agendas , Hon. Akintayo rolled out a Fuel Palliative Supports Program for Okada and Marwa riders in the local government. The palliative tickets were distributed under the leadership of Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun Abuye, the PDP Party Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government. The initiative is aimed at cushioning the economic effect of fuel subsidy removal on local transport operators.
Furthermore, in a bid to support education at the foundational level, hundreds of exercise books were distributed to primary school pupils across the local government. This gesture was carried out by Alhaji Akeem Ogundeji, the full-time Commissioner of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), who commended Hon. Akintayo for his unwavering dedication to grassroots development. In his remarks, Ogundeji described the Chairman as a “silent achiever” whose work continues to speak volumes without noise.
