Breaking News: Ibadan North East Council Boss, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, Meets PMS Branch Manager and Market Traders — Seeks Synergy on Public Safety and Orderliness

In a move to enhance public safety and strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders in the transport sector, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (Omo Yes), led a high-powered delegation to engage with the leadership of the Park Management System (PMS), Agodi Branch, and market traders at the bustling Iwo Road area.

The delegation included the House Leader, Hon. Igbalajobi, and other legislators, who joined the Chairman in discussions with Alhaji Gbolaga, PMS Branch Manager, and his team. The visit focused on issues affecting the welfare and safety of transport workers, market traders, and commuters alike.

> "I'm here to engage all PMS members on safety protocols within the garages and along major routes — especially high-traffic areas like Iwo Road — and to discuss environmental sanitation within the garages," Hon. Akintayo stated during the meeting.

He further emphasized the importance of regulating vehicle movement from garages to their destinations, a concern that has sparked debate among union members and operators. According to him, there is a need for a standardized and transparent operational system that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and respect for transport workers' time and efforts.

As part of his commitment to grassroots development, Hon. Akintayo also announced a donation of ₦200,000 to support market women operating within the area.

In response, the PMS Agodi Branch Chairman, Mr. Gbolaga, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman and pledged full cooperation from his team and all garages under his jurisdiction. He also used the opportunity to outline the current challenges facing their operations and requested the Council's continued support in addressing them.

Mr. Gbolaga highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure a safer and more organized transport system for both drivers and passengers. He also thanked the Chairman for his generous donation, which he said would go a long way in supporting the market traders.
