Oyo East LG Exonerates Council Boss from Allegations Over Secretariat Renovation
The Oyo East Local Government has officially exonerated its Executive Chairman, Hon. Sola Oluokun, from any involvement in the Secretariat Renovation Project, distancing him from a misleading and malicious publication that alleged his connection to the initiative.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the local government, it was clearly stated that “Hon. Sola Oluokun had no knowledge of, involvement in, or connection whatsoever with the said Secretariat Renovation Project.”
The statement emphasized the need for clarity and truth, affirming that “at no time did Hon. Sola Oluokun participate in, authorize, endorse, or approve any letter of financial request, political negotiation, or correspondence relating to the renovation project. He was completely unaware of the entire process.”
It was further revealed that the renovation was a self-help initiative led by concerned staff of the local government and some well-meaning indigenes of Oyo, who voluntarily undertook the effort in the spirit of community development.
The council clarified that the chairman “was never consulted, briefed, or informed about any fundraising efforts or their execution.”
Responding to circulating rumors of political collusion, the PR Unit strongly debunked such claims, stating:
“We categorically deny the false narrative suggesting any secret political collusion between the Chairman and opposition figures, including Hon. Akimu Adeyemi or members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
It reaffirmed that “Hon. Oluokun was completely unaware of any letters or political engagements outside the structure of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).”
Reinforcing his character and leadership, the statement described Hon. Oluokun as “a man of integrity, transparency, and unwavering loyalty to the PDP. His record of service is clear, and he cannot be associated with any underhanded dealings or political conspiracy.”
The statement reiterated with finality:
“We cannot overemphasize this—Hon. Sola Oluokun had no knowledge of, did not participate in, and was not involved—directly or indirectly—in the Secretariat Renovation fundraising, execution, or any related political interactions.”
The local government called on the public to disregard the unfounded claims:
“We urge the general public, PDP members at all levels, and lovers of truth to ignore the baseless publication. It is the handiwork of disgruntled elements threatened by the Chairman’s focused, people-centered leadership.”
Concluding, the local government declared:
“Hon. Sola Oluokun stands tall—innocent, exonerated, and undistracted. He remains committed to delivering his mandate and will not be deterred by agents of division and falsehood.
