Defamation: Oyo East Council Boss, Hon. Peter Oluokun, Disassociates Himself from Fake Letter in Circulation

The Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Peter Oluokun, has disassociated himself from a fake and unauthorized letter currently circulating regarding the renovation of the Oyo East Local Government Secretariat.

In a public statement, Hon. Oluokun expressed his dissatisfaction with the letter, which was reportedly signed by the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), stating that it does not reflect his knowledge or the decisions of the local government council.

"I strongly condemn the content of the document as it misrepresents our intentions and priorities," he said. "The DAGS has been summoned by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters for clarification, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any staff found to have violated official protocols."

He urged members of the public to disregard any requests for funds or materials as stated in the letter, assuring that all genuine revitalization efforts will be carried out through the proper channels and in full transparency.

"We remain committed to restoring the Secretariat and will ensure that all future initiatives are communicated clearly and openly. Thank you for your understanding and continued support," Hon. Oluokun concluded.
