Lawmaker highlights experience, leadership credentials and next-phase priorities for Constituency 01
IBADAN, OYO STATE – November 2, 2026
With 96 days to the February 6, 2027, Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, Hon. Abiodun Oluwaseun Babalola, PhD, popularly known as Mr Integrity, has presented his experience, leadership credentials and vision for a greater Ibadan North East Constituency 01 as he seeks a renewed mandate.
Hon Babalola, who currently represents the constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly and is the Allied People's Movement (APM) candidate for the seat, said his years in public service had strengthened his commitment to people-centred representation and improved living conditions for his constituents.
The lawmaker, a former Administrator of Ibadan East Developmental Area, maintained that effective representation goes beyond occupying public office, noting that leadership should be measured by its impact on the daily lives of the people. He also attributed his reputation as “Mr Integrity” to his commitment to accessibility, responsiveness and accountability.
“Leadership is service, and integrity is the foundation of it. The people of Ibadan North East Constituency 01 gave me their trust, and I have worked to honour it on the floor of the House and in our communities. If they renew my mandate, I will serve with the same honesty, humility and commitment, and I will do more,” Babalola said.
Outlining his priorities for a second term, the lawmaker said he would focus on people-centred legislation, quality and affordable healthcare, education and skills development, security of lives and property, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, as well as the welfare of pensioners and small traders.
He added that transparency and accountability would remain central to his commitments, while expressing appreciation to the APM leadership, party members and constituents for the confidence reposed in him. Babalola also pledged to continue working with the party's leadership and other candidates to promote good governance in Ibadan North East and Oyo State.
As the countdown to the February 2027 polls continues, Babalola urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate peacefully in the electoral process. He called on constituents to support all APM candidates, describing the forthcoming election as an important decision that would shape the future of the constituency and the state.
