ITESIWAJU LG's HELMSMAN ADMONISHED ADHERENTS OF ISLAM AS RAMADAN FASTING COMMENCES.
Fasting remained one very important aspect of all five(5) pillars in Islam and usually observed within the space of 29 to 30 days of the month of ramadan throughout the world. It's a time to seek the face of the almighty Allah for favour in all ramifications by abstaining from food and water (other drinks too) accompanied by frequent prayers.
Thus, Hon. Ojo Bolaji Akintola, the executive chairman of itesiwaju Local Government has joined the numerous Muslim brothers and sisters throughout the globe to usher in the new month of ramadan and to rejoice with all Muslim faithful in itesiwaju LG and environs for the grace to witness yet another Ramadan fasting season.
The council boss while celebrating with adherents of Islam both at home and abroad appreciated the almighty Allah for the opportunity to be among the living to see this year 2023 ramadan season despite all "ups and downs" bedeviling our country inform of cash crunch, fuel scarcity, insecurity and other vices.
He, however admonished all Muslim both old and young in the LG to seek for the favour of the almighty Allah, most importantly on the state of the nation; to pray for our leaders and for the peace and prosperity of the LG, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole in this new political dispensation. The chairman also used the opportunity to solicit for more support for the new omituntun 2.0 agenda of Engr. (Dr) seyi Makinde.
Further in his words, Hon. Akintola called on all Muslim individuals in the state to wear good character as exemplified by the holy prophet Mohammed (SAW) to abstain not only from food but from everything forbidden by Allah, stressing that we should be our brother's keeper at this point in time by reaching out to the poor/ less privileged people in terms of food and other needs, taken into consideration that the money redesigned policy had taken it toll on the majority in our society. He also encouraged all and sundry in Islam to be at peace with one another even with those who were not of their faith.
The council helmsman, Hon. Ojo Bolaji Akintola used the medium to appreciate all electorates that had in one way or another supported the course of becoming a reality, the second term bid of Governor Makinde. He then wished all Muslim Umar a pleasant ramadan fasting season.
